Savvy Media Holdings is a finance and production company owned by Matthew George.

The first project to be greenlit under this banner is the political drama “LBJ,” starring Academy Award® nominated actor Woody Harrelson. Directed by Academy Award® nominee Rob Reiner, “LBJ” is a political drama being produced by Acacia Entertainment and Castle Rock Entertainment. The film is also fully financed by Acacia Entertainment.

The film focuses on the events surrounding November 22, 1963, when one President’s life was taken and Lyndon Baines Johnson, portrayed by Harrelson, ascends to become the 36th President of the United States. “LBJ” tells the story of a politician (Johnson) who was at risk of fading into irrelevancy but upon Kennedy’s death, seized his moment to rescue a nation and claim his place as one of the nation’s most important presidents. The film offers an intimate look at Johnson’s masterful political maneuvering and handling of the presidential powers during one of the most difficult weeks in this country’s history.

Rounding out the cast is Academy Award® nominated actor and Emmy Winner Richard Jenkins, veteran actor Bill Pullman, Jeffrey Donovan and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Filming began in September 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C. The film is slated to be released in 2016.

Acacia is developing a slate of high-profile projects to develop and produce under this label. “LBJ” marks the first project under the new Acacia Entertainment label, which is looking to finance and produce 2-3 films a year.
